History

Coal Creek Rotary (CCR) has approximately 45 members, all of whom are very dedicated to the Rotary motto of "Service Above Self".

In the last year, CCR has worked within the Louisville-Lafayette community to help Sister Carmen (a local food bank and thrift store) by providing food and houshold items, assisting with the annual coat drive, and by helping to paint and provide funds to furnish Sister Carmen's new building. Additionally, CCR has been active in the Diabetes Association 14er Hike and Fundraiser, a Channel 9 Healthfair in Louisville, providing a matching grant for Project Sanctuary, the Adopt a Highway program, and Salvation Army holiday bell ringing. To promote literacy, CCR provided dictionaries to 3rd graders at the local elementary schools.

On an international level, CCR is involved in a water project in Panama, a school project in Nepal, and has provided 5 Shelter Boxes to aid in relief efforts around the world. CCR is also hosting a high school exchange student from France for the 2010-2011 school year, and will be hosting a Group Study Exchange from Brazil in April.
