Service defines Rotary's character; it promotes Rotary's appeal and visibility in the community, and is the reason Rotary continues to grow.
Coal Creek Rotary raises funds in many different ways. This past year, the club hosted its annual "Helping Haunt," which is community dance on Halloween. Other activities have included wine tastings and poinsetta sales. The club's goal is to provide enjoyable activities in the community while raising money for good causes. On a international perspective, Coal Creek Rotary has contributed to the purchase of a solar oven for a small village in Africa and helped people in India receive cataract surgery.
Our club responds to the needs of Louisville and Lafayette by participating in effective service projects with some of the following attributes:
1. Responds to a real issue, not an imagined one.
2. Improves the lives of community members.
3. Incorporates the abilities of those who are served.
4. Recognizes all participants' contributions as important and necessary.
5. Comes from a realistic assessment of resources available.
6. Aims for specific goals and objectives with measurable results.
7. Builds a working network
